The National eWell-Being Awards 2009

A hundred people attended the award ceremony at the Royal Society of Arts on Wednesday 17th June, as the 32 finalists of the 2009 National eWell-Being Awards gathered to hear the results of this year’s judging.

Sue Nelson, the science and environment writer and broadcaster and presenter for the evening, praised all the finalists for being at the forefront of innovation in ICT for environmental and social improvement.

The judges selected Brighton & Hove City Council as the overall winner of this year’s awards, for their ‘Talking Bus Stops’ project.  A special one-off award was also presented to an organisation that the judges felt has shown a true, long-term commitment to promoting and delivering sustainable IT, Sheffield based desktop PC and server manufacturer, VeryPC.
